Riding Camps
What equipment do we need to bring with us for the ride?
All riding equipment (helmets, boots, safety devices) is provided by LTRA.
What if I am sick or have to miss a session?
LTRA will only refund or credit the lesson fee if we need to cancel lessons due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstance.
Is there a dress code for riding or spending time with the horses?
Yes, you must be appropriately dressed to ride and interact with the horses. This includes:
- Long pants, even in summer months
- Similarly to a good helmet, adequate footwear is very important
- No sandals or open toed shoes are allowed
- The best footwear provides good ankle support with a small heel to keep your feet from sliding through the stirrups
Our arena is heated to 8 degrees during colder months so dress comfortably for that.
How soon should I arrive?
Please do not arrive prior to 15 minutes before the camp or riding lesson starts.
Is lunch provided?
You are required to bring your own peanut-free lunch.
What is included in a day of camp?
Half of the day is spent working directly with the horses; this includes 1 1/2 hours of riding. The remainder of time is spent learning about daily horse care responsibilities, crafts, and educational information about horses.
